Lisa Lorden
PhD, CRNP, ACNP-BC, PMHNP-BC
Lisa is a board-certified acute care nurse and psychiatric mental health practitioner. She believes there is a strong connection between physical and mental health. Treating the whole person is essential to optimal health. She also believes in delivering medication management and therapy to meet the patient’s needs. Her experience with oncology patients has led to her special interest in treating those with cancer or any chronic illness who are on a journey with their physical and mental health. During a chronic illness, many times, mental health is overlooked. Treating both the patient and caregiver is paramount to maintaining a high quality of life for all involved.
Also, as a nurse educator, she has a unique perspective on the needs of college students and the increasing stress they experience. Young adulthood is a time of many changes and experiences, and mental health cannot be neglected. She has seen many students struggle with their mental health and wants to help them understand and cope with the challenges of anxiety and depression. She wants her patients to feel at ease and comfortable when meeting with them so they can get the most out of each encounter. She feels allowing her patients to express their needs will lead to a partnership where goals can be met.
