Counseling for Anxiety, Grief & Trauma
Hello, My name is Katy Gingles, I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor.
I work with individuals and couples across the life span who are managing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, and parenting and caregiver challenges
We have thousands of thoughts a day. Sometimes it seems like our thoughts, memories, and emotions of sadness, worry, confusion, irritability, anger, self-doubt (to name a few!) are all consuming. Our thoughts can leave us feeling stuck and prevent us from finding meaning and contentment in our daily lives. In therapy, we can work together to honor these thoughts, memories, and emotions, no matter how painful, while learning coping skills to move forward with self-compassion and hope. I believe strongly in unconditional regard and the power of repair when we can express ourselves and be seen, heard, and understood. I encourage feedback when I get something wrong. Empathy, curiosity, understanding, and a sense of humor are what I strive to offer in a supportive and nonjudgmental counseling space.
I have a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University. Depending on your questions, needs, goals, and aspirations, I use an integrative, collaborative approach within a psychodynamic framework to understand the roots of your pain and work toward healing and a sense of wholeness. Please reach out for your free consultation.
I look forward to meeting you!
