Juliann is a dedicated and empathetic advocate for patients. She integrates medical and psychiatric knowledge with wisdom to treat and support clients. Her education at Georgetown University and University of Maryland provides a strong foundation in research, psychology, neurophysiology, medicine and nursing. Juliann’s graduate research presents a comprehensive analysis of adolescent suicide. She has acquired practical wisdom through her experiences as a parent, school PTA representative, psychiatric nurse and supporter of community mental health.
Establishing a caring and trusting relationship is a priority for Juliann. She collaborates with clients to discover their unique goals for treatment and encourages patients to take an active role in formulating their care plan. As a person’s strengths are identified, Juliann provides tools and skills to facilitate achievement of one’s goals. With the use of psychotherapy, education and medication, she guides individuals and families as they manage personal challenges. Recognizing ‘it takes a village to raise a child, adult and family,’ she includes all available resources to facilitate mental wellness.
Juliann grew up on Long Island in New York where she learned to love the beach and bagels. While living in Montgomery County for over 30 years, she raised three children, three dogs, and two cats. One of her favorite quotes is from Winston Churchill, “Never, never, never give up.”
