Certified Health Education Specialist
Jerusalem received their Bachelor of Health Studies from the University of Texas at Tyler and spent time both in the United States and abroad working as a Certified Health Education Specialist. They received their Masters of Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, specializing in clinical social work and completing a Substance Use Disorder Work Force Expansion Fellowship.
Jerusalem believes you are the expert in your experience and hopes to be a guide along your mental health journey as you process, reflect, and heal. Jerusalem has experience working with folks with ADHD, Depression, and Anxiety, and several other diagnoses but believes that labels are simply a form of understanding instead of pathologizing.
Their training background and experience in Intimate partner violence use a trauma-informed approach in their therapeutic practice. Jerusalem draws from several orientations to adapt to the treatment needs and goals of their clients, including but not limited to Cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic theory, and attachment theory. Their lived experiences also contribute to their work with LGBTQIA+ folks, international/immigrant populations, and BIPOC folks to name a few.
